I Can Still Remember was originally written for an immersive circus production called Zabiti. The audience would wander through a cursed forest and were invited to join the performers (who were dressed as endangered species) to break the curse. The song was performed during the scene where the Wolf protagonist sacrifices herself to save the forest and break the curse.
